One of the instructors from Ardroy, Katie offered to facilitate a trail walk for our young women. We met her in Balloch and headed out on the first part of the 3 Lochs Way, Balloch to Helensburgh. Along the way, Katie passed on knowledge on the local flora and fauna, stopping to show us wood sorrel and sphagnum moss. Being in nature had a positive impact on the yw’s wellbeing. It allowed them to see how easy it is to access outdoor spaces via public transport and feel confident in following the route of a walk on a map.
